Last Wednesday the Choir joined six other shools from Northern Tasmania in a choral celebration.
Scarlett Uffelmann joined a student from West Launceston to MC the event. Scarlett spoke clearly and with confidence to a packed auditorium. Congratulations Scarlett!
The night began with a performance by all the schools singing together as a combined choir. They sang:
- The Greatest Show - from the Greatest Showman
- The Lighthouse by Rachel Kelly
- Bhombela - a traditional Zulu piece arranged by Will Scafe
Then each school choir performed their individual song. Our choir sang:
- Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) by Shakira
To conclude the evening the schools combined once again to sing:
- Dare to Dream by Begaud Cornish and Tester
- Humpty Dumpty by Dave and Jean Perry
- Unbreakable by Birds of Tokyo
- A Beatles Medley
Congratulations to our choir who sang beautifully. It was a performance full of joy!
We received wonderful feedback from members in the audience and our families. Comments were made about their voices, their movements, the consistent uniform, and the talent of Mrs Partridge.
Many, many thanks to Mrs Partridge for your passion for singing and leadership of our choir. They were an absolute credit to you!
It was such a special night for our choir, their families and our school. I can't wait until next year!

Last Sunday our team participated in the State Maths Relay - Northern Division. The team of four was selected from a group of Year 5-6 students who have been provided with extension opportunities in Mathematics this year.
Congratulations to Afraim, Eli, Levi and Sisir on your efforts. Some of the tasks were extremely challenging!
Thank you to Mrs Boon-Smith who has worked each week with students to increase their knowledge of mathematical concepts, support their problem-solving skills and encourage them to work as a team.
The Obstac-a-thon is a great fundraiser for our school and a way the students can have fun and be involved too by walking laps of an obstacle course that is set up around the school.
The Obstac-a-thon is on Friday 18 October. It is held at school at the following times:
- Year 3 - 6 students 10:00 am - 11:00 am
- Prep - Year 2 students 11:25 am - 12:25 pm
Prep - Year 6 students are encouraged to find relatives and friends to sponsor them per lap, or to give a donation. Sponsorship Forms are coming home today. The Sponsorship Form and money collected are to be returned to school after the event, and by Friday 8 November.
Families are welcome to attend.

In this movie, every emoji in Textopolis displays just one emotion – except Gene. He is determined to get rid of his multiple expressions and become ‘normal’.
The enchanting tale of the mouse who is small in size but enormous in spirit. E.B. White's classic novel on the big screen, about one little mouse on a very big adventure!
Stuart Little is no ordinary mouse. Born to a family of humans he lives in New York City with his parents, his older brother George and Snowball the cat. Though he's shy and thoughtful, he's an adventurous and heroic little mouse. His daring escapades include racing a toy boat in a Central Park pond, retrieving his mother's ring from a drain, and crawling inside a piano to fix the keys for his brother.
When his best friend, a beautiful little bird called Margalo disappears from her nest, Stuart is determined to track her down. He ventures away from home for the very first time in his life and finds himself embroiled in one exciting adventure after another, making new friends and meeting old ones along the way.
