The 2024-25 State Budget has now been released which contains the funding schedule and allocations for new capital projects. Our school as part of the School Building Blitz Program 2024-2030 has been allocated $7.075 million. This allocation will provide us with additional contemporary environments, associated support spaces and amenities. Construction is due to start in 2028 and conclude in 2029.
The Facility Services Infrastructure Delivery team will be reaching out to us in due course to discuss our project, as plans and educational briefs are required to be completed prior to engagement of the architectural consultants.
We look forward to this exciting development and know that it will benefit our students, staff and broader community.

MHPS Choir Performance at Woolworths
Our Choir was invited to the opening of the Woolworths redevelopment last week. They opened the celebration with the National Anthem and then sang Unbreakable by Birds of Tokyo. The choir sang beautifully and everyone in attendance enjoyed their performance. Wesley (Mowbray Woolworths Manager) was so grateful that we were able to be there, and presented the choir members with a cooler bag of goodies. Thank you Mrs Partridge for supporting our Choir to perform so confidently in public.
Last Tuesday our Year 1 to Year 4 students and identified Year 5-6 students attended the Schools Dance Event. We danced along with ten other Northern Primary Schools at the Silverdome. Over 2500 students were involved on the day! Some of our favourite dances were Treaty, Don’t Start Now, Beep Beep I’m a Sheep, Funky Monkey and the MegaMix.

Congratulations to Levi, Eli, Sisir and Afraim for being selected to represent Mowbray Heights Primary School at the Northern Division of the Tasmanian Maths Relay on Sunday. Along with other teams of students from around the state they will compete to solve 20 maths problems in 45 minutes. The relays provide an opportunity for students to improve their mathematical thinking and work co-operatively in teams.
Go Mowbray!

Kindergarten Excursions to Hagley Farm School
Our Kindergarten classes will be going on an excursion to Hagley Farm School on the following dates:
Kindergarten A | Wednesday 25 September |

We will be leaving school at 9:10 am and returning to school by 2:45 pm.

End of Term DVD - Prep - Year 2
On Friday 27 September, the Prep and Year 1-2 classes will be watching The Emoji Movie (Rated G).
In this movie, every emoji in Textopolis displays just one emotion – except Gene. He is determined to get rid of his multiple expressions and become ‘normal’.
The enchanting tale of the mouse who is small in size but enormous in spirit. E.B. White's classic novel on the big screen, about one little mouse on a very big adventure!
Stuart Little is no ordinary mouse. Born to a family of humans he lives in New York City with his parents, his older brother George and Snowball the cat. Though he's shy and thoughtful, he's an adventurous and heroic little mouse. His daring escapades include racing a toy boat in a Central Park pond, retrieving his mother's ring from a drain, and crawling inside a piano to fix the keys for his brother.
When his best friend, a beautiful little bird called Margalo disappears from her nest, Stuart is determined to track her down. He ventures away from home for the very first time in his life and finds himself embroiled in one exciting adventure after another, making new friends and meeting old ones along the way.

Family School Satisfaction Survey
Every year the Department for Education, Children and Young People conducts a School Satisfaction Survey to find out what schools do well and where they may improve.
We would be so grateful if families could complete our online survey about Mowbray Heights Primary School. Your feedback is very important and helps form school planning and decision-making.
The survey is open until Friday 20 September 2024 and should take about 5 minutes to complete.
Each family should nominate one person to fill in this survey for their child(ren).
Take the online survey by clicking this Link, or pasting it in your browser: https://nam.dcv.ms/qEDFA5rUiJ
The survey is carried out on a secure website and all responses are anonymous and confidential.
All families in this school receive the same survey link and no identifying information is collected. A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individuals or small groups will not be disclosed to any Department for Education, Children and Young People staff.
Please contact us if you require any assistance and thank you for taking the time to fill in this survey.
