Dear Families
The wellbeing of our students is important to us - we want to hear how students feel, and think, about different things going on in their lives.
Students in Year 4, 5 and 6 at Mowbray Heights Primary School will be taking part in the Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey. The results from this survey will help us get a picture of the current wellbeing of our students, and what we can do to improve future wellbeing for learning. The more students who take part, the clearer our picture will be.
The Student Wellbeing and Engagement Survey is part of the Department’s Child and Student Wellbeing Strategy .
The details for the survey for our students are:
When: The week beginning 26 August, 2024
Who: Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 students
What do I need to do?: You and your child don’t need to do anything. The survey will be done in class time and will not require your child to prepare in any way.
A letter with more information is coming home today with all Year 4, 5 and 6 students, including Frequently Asked Questions and a form to sign and return to the school if you do not want your child to participate in the survey.
Thank you for supporting us to ensure that all our learners are known, safe, well and learning.

Book Week Dress Up Day and Colouring Competition
Every year, the Children's Book Council of Australia holds the CBCA Book Week to celebrate books and reading. This year the theme is "Reading is Magic" and we are excited to be celebrating across our school.
Book Week Dress Up Day is on Wednesday 21 August
Students can choose to dress as a book character, a non fiction character such as a sports star, or come in their uniform as a Mowbray reader! We would like this day to be accessible to all, so please do not feel like you need to go to any expense - it's amazing what bits and pieces you might have at home to create a costume! Please note that toy weapons are not to be brought to school.
Book Week Colouring In Competition
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 will have the opportunity to enter the competition, with winners announced during Book Week. Petrarchs' Book Shop has kindly donated vouchers for our winners, and we have also had a lovely donation of some 'Dunstan and Theodore' books from Mrs Sharon Booth.
Entry forms are available from the Library.
I look forward to celebrating with everyone!

Launching into Learning - Term 3
Thank you to all our families for attending our sessions so far this year.
Please note we have a new playgroup on Monday afternoon at 1:45 pm and Playgroup on Tuesday at 10:30 am will now be an additional Pre-Kinder session.
This term we are very excited to start work on our Kindergarten outdoor space, which will mean we do not have access to the playground in Term 3. To keep group sizes manageable, the Playgroup on Thursday at 9:00 am will now be for toddlers who are 2-3 years old and their siblings.
The times and sessions for Term 3 are attached. Please ask our staff if you have any questions.
